Plaza Santa Ana
The Plaza de Santa Ana is the heart of Barrio de las Letras, also known as Huertas. It is located in the heart of Madrid and nearby streets are as well known as Calle Principe, Calle del Prado and Calle Huertas.
The two most important buildings in this square are the Spanish Theatre, dating from the seventeenth century and was formerly known as El Corral de la Pacheca and luxurious Midnight Rose Hotel by Melia.
In the middle of the square there is a wooden stalls where they sell crafts of all kinds, there is also a playground and numerous trees. It is a very spacious and quiet square and has two statues in honor of Calderon de la Barca and Federico Garcia Lorca.
Another thing that this square is famous are the bars with live music (usually jazz) and pubs and terraces, which are usually frequented by different types of people and many foreigners.
